Lawn Aeration and Bison Have lots in common.
Hundreds of years ago, the great grasses of the Americas were cared for by the Bison who grazed upon them. They were the lawn aerators… so to speak.
While they grazed, the Bison’s large hoofs were helping to break up dead organic material which had formed like a crust on the surface of the soil. This breaking up would allow water to filter down into the soil, and water and oxygen could reach the grasses roots, keeping them healthy and growing strong.
Our guess is that your property doesn’t have any bison roaming around.
Your property probably does have some pets, people, and even vehicles traveling over the top of it, compressing and killing grass.
This dead organic material will form that same crusty layer on top of your soil, eventually killing parts of your lawn and allowing weeds to crop up in it’s place.
Instead of letting your lawn die a slow death, have Bren and our team of bison work your soil back to its natural health!
Ok, so maybe we don’t have a herd of Bison, but we do perform Lawn Aeration Service.
Lawn Aeration Service is one of the most important lawn care services a person can do for their lawn!
Lawn Aeration does the same work of the Bison. Aeration provides pathways for water and oxygen to reach the grasses roots, which helps to increases microbial activity at root level.
It also softens up the compacted ground which allows for more nutrient absorption.
All this means a healthier, better looking lawn for you!
Generally, especially in Connecticut, lawn aeration is done in the spring and fall, while there is still some time for the grass to grow.
Keep your lawn looking beautiful.
